This is a simple Clear by example circuit diagram of ceiling fan and a cooler moter. the wiring diagram is for AC 220V single phase line with single phase ceiling fan motor, cooler motor, for any single phase motor.

Here a simple SPST switch is used to supply power or not to the motor and a Regulator is used to controlling the fan speed. Though it is very simple, but one thing to be noted that Switch and Regulator should be connected with the phase line of main power, not neutral.

Ceiling fan has a capacitor start motor inside. AC single phase capacitor start motor has two winding; one is starting winding and second one running winding.

There are 4 wire in any single phase AC motor in a fan
2 wire for starting winding and another 2 wire for running winding
1. Connect starting winding's 1st wire to running winding's first wire and this a single connection for neutrul wire AC 220w.

2. Connect starting winding's second wire to 1st wire of capasitor,
3. Connect second wire of capacitor to the second wire of running winding
4. Then connect a wire for phase connection (power supply) to second wire of running winding (coil).
